This isn't exactly a "How's My Driving" post because I honestly do not want critique. I'm doing this for fun, not to meet any kind of standard!

That being said, if you want to reach out and chat with me for any reason about plotty stuff, brainstorming, life, or whatever, feel free to hit me up here or in a PM! This can ALSO serve for if you want to reach out to Molly for any reason. Just indicate in the subject line if it's IC or OOC.

And of course, if I've wronged you in an any way in RP by doing something stupid or wrong, poke me and we can figure it out. I don't bite and my general philosophy is very much "I can edit, nbd".

[OOC]

Backtagging: Sure
Threadhopping: Heck yeah.
Fourthwalling: Totally. She doesn't do it, but she can react to it with the confusion you'd expect.

[IC]

Hugging this character: Molly loves hugs if she knows you! If she doesn't...well don't be weird?
Kissing this character: Chaste kisses? Sure. Romantic? She's 12. So no.
Flirting with this character: If you're age appropriate, you can try? But it will be weird and it won't go well. It might go hilariously though. If you're not age appropriate...ew. No.
Fighting with this character: Feel free to try. She kicks a lot of butt though. But why would you want to? Everyone loves Molly!
Injuring this character: If consensually part of a fun story, sure! But she's very hard to hurt if she sees it coming.
Killing this character: I'd prefer not, unless part of a story where she gets to come back.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: I mean she can't stop it, so have at.

Please also use this post to opt out of anything you wish to opt out of. Essentially, use this to revoke my permissions to interact with your character in certain ways!

CHARACTER INFO

Name: Molly Hayes
Journal: [personal profile] cute_hats
Age: 13
Appearance: Molly is a brunette child who loves to dress herself up in fun outfits. Her favorite thing is to have a new head covering almost every day.

Canon: Marvel Comics
Canon Point: Immediately after the conclusion of the most recent Runaways series.

History: Molly Hayes Wikipedia entry.

Abilities: Molly is a mutant who has extreme strength and invulnerability. She has toppled a monster the size of a skyscraper and withstood an attack from Excavator of the Wrecking Crew’s enchanted shovel (which cracked to pieces over her head). However, her strength and invulnerability seems to be psionically fueled, and using it tires her out to the point of just falling asleep on the spot if she uses it a LOT. She appears to have gotten a bit better with her endurance here, but it is still a factor.

Questionnaire:

1. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?

Molly cares about her friends (the Runaways) a great deal. Her friends mean the world to her, and she’d do anything to help and protect them. She also cares about her family, as evidenced by the fact that of the Runaways, she’s the only one who still thinks fondly of her dead supervillain parents and misses them. She also loves her mad scientist grandma with questionable ethics. When she makes new friends, she is quick to become attached to them too.

Molly wants to be a hero who beats up bad guys like her role models, the X-Men. However, she has consistently refused to join the mutants because it would have meant leaving her friends. In that regard, she has a very clear hierarchy of priorities.

Interestingly, though, she doesn’t quite view good and evil in the most traditional of ways, as evidenced by how she feels about her parents and some others that would often be characterized as “villains” by the superhero community. She tends to see things much more in terms of “nice and mean” than “good and evil”.

2. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take: best, worst, most likely?

There have actually been future versions of Molly Hayes that have been seen in the comics. She tends to still be loyal to her friends, but does appear to have joined the larger hero community. She never becomes evil (unless mind controlled by a shitty evil descendent of Charles Xavier).

At best, she becomes the hero she wants to be, but on her own terms. At worst, she becomes disillusioned by adults constantly doing wrong by her and her friends and retreats from the world, not using her powers to help people. I don’t see a world in which she becomes a villain though – just kind of sad that the world wasn’t as amazing as she used to think it was.

3. How do they behave within a group? What role(s) do they take? Does this differ if they know and trust the group, versus finding themselves in a group of strangers? Why?

Molly makes a great team player! She isn’t usually the leader because she is too young. If it is a group of her friends, she is a very enthusiastic participant of any group activities. If it is a group of strangers…well, she is much the same in terms of enthusiasm. She will likely try to befriend the strangers, feeling out how nice they are. If they are mean, she’ll retreat from them, leaving them to be mean in their own personal space far from her. You do you!

4. What do they need and want out of relationships, and how do they go about getting it?

Friendship. All the friends and fun. She will be overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic as she seeks to make you like her, and to overcome any possible bad vibes you may be initially putting out. Molly loves people and meeting new people.

5. How do they understand the world–what kind of worldview and thought processes do they have? Why?

Molly’s worldview is pretty simple at this stage. There are lots of totally awesome people out there to meet, and there are SO MANY adventures to be had, especially since she’s lucky enough to have powers! She wants to get out there and experience all of it.
Because of her friends, she does have something of a “adults vs children” outlook, where adults are often the antagonists. She trusts adults more than her friends do though because of her primary outlook of “trust until given reason otherwise” attitude. Still, she is often a little wary around adults at first. After all, they’ve tried to kidnap her multiple times to put her in homes or with the X-Men against her consent.

Generally, the world has plenty of gray areas when it comes to good and evil, but if you just try to be nice and don’t be a butt, you’re doing good.

6. How much do they rely on their minds and intellect, versus other approaches like relying on instinct, intuition, faith and spirituality, or emotions?

Molly isn’t dumb, but she does tend to rely on instinct and intuition more than thinking things through. If you seem likeable, she likes you. If she gets a bad feeling about you, she will act on that. If you come at her unexpectedly and appearing to be violent, shields up and she’s punching you halfway across a city.

7. What is something others might find intolerable about them?

I imagine that some might react poorly to her relentless positivity. But that’s only if you’re grimdark and moody, and certainly there aren’t many of THOSE types of characters out there, right?

Interacting with another Runaway! (That was a Karolina Dean)

Why are you interested in this game? It’s run by and has my friends! I guess in that respect I’m following Molly’s theme of supporting her friends. Also I’ve been in it for several months with Deadpool and it’s awesome. I just need a relentlessly positive character who is equally as fun as Deadpool but less offensive. Sometimes people aren’t into what Deadpool has to offer, you know? And I want to play with those people too.
